I have a total of 8 hens. 4 are Silver Laced Wyandottes. 1 of them is the dominant hen. The other 3 have feathers missing from the area where it would usually be missing from a rooster and it's very red. I have seen her mount other hens. No blood that I can see and no sign of pests that I can see. The 2 black hens and 2 buff Orpingtons are perfect. In the pictures you see the dominant hen's feathers are perfect and beautiful. Would she be doing this damage to the other 3? I'm moving my 9 new pullets to the coop soon (see no touch for a few weeks). If this is her should I remove her for a few days when they first are all together? Thank you

Could be from the hen mounting them or it could be feather picking which is generally from a deficiency or boredom. How big is your set up? Any behavioural enrichment added like things to scratch at, get on, or get under?

I ha e 8 laying hens currently. Coop 8x8 run 16 x8 possibly bigger. Will be adding 9 more in the next 2 weeks or so. I could definitely up the enrichment. And plans are to expand the day area soon.
