BYC Café

Good morning and thanks for the coffee!
We had a bobcat cruise by last evening and fortunately, DH had gone out 30 mins earlier to lock up the coops or it would have meant less chickens to feed.
We usually have fox den in an old barn foundation on our property, and we're waiting for them to show up this year yet. Keeping a close eye on the birds for sure.

Speaking of spring, @Offshoreorca our rhubarb here in Wisconsin is peeking out, and I'm SO excited that the ramps I transplanted into the yard last year came up! We have a little strand of young oaks that I tucked a bunch into, so now with a few coming up this year we'll let them establish and in a few years I can start cooking with them. I LOVE ramps and I'm loving all of the spring plants poking up. The weather is warming, the cows are going a bit bonkers running around, the ducks are happy in the puddles...

Coffee is going down easy today, and the sun is shining out there!

Good morning Café!

Thanks for the much needed coffee :caf It is cold, skies are all shades of grey and the rain just won't stop.

But at least there is a shimmer of hope as "they" predicted some sunshine and warmer temperatures up to 20°C for the Easter weekend.

The chicks are growing like weeds and enjoyed their mashed and still warm boiled eggs mixed with crushed chick raiser and millet. I love to watch them dive right in like little dinosaurs 😆

Found a broody in a nest last night, put her on a roost.
Probably one of last years, but leg band fell off.
Will have to dig up the banding stuff to mark her tonight.
Breaker crates are already/still set up and ready to go
Don't you want her to hatch some chicks? Maybe just get a few fertilized eggs to rejuvenate your flock?
