i think i still have a 4th entry available? if so.. here is both the duck manor and the hen haven, behind the garden, and with a little cardinal atop the pussy willow tree in between, during the snowiest day so far this year.

Welcome to BYC's Chilly Coop Contest. Some coops are purchased kits, and some are custom-crafted. Some coops are made of recycled wood, and some are painted. One thing that all of our coops share in common is a place for our feathered friends to lay their eggs and to keep their fluffy butts safe and warm in the winter. We want to see those cozy cottages and fortified fortresses this winter.

Prizes
TBD

winter in Downeast Maine. Chicken coop can be seen, but there is a duck-hut and goose hoose on the backside. All keeping it interesting inside, out of the cold. I added a few teen ducklings, so had to put a light to help... goes against everything tho. Temporary! Husband insisted on better, wooden run with corrals for each. So, we built it together!

Dusky dawn picture... blue is from the phone- no filter. But I thought it looked cool. It definitely was cold, like the color implies! But toasty inside with all the warm birdies. Christmas lights inside to help everyone see where they are going and what is infront of them- and for me to count everyone and clean. Stockings are hung by the coop doors with care. No tree, but thinking of planting one in there?
