In my opinion, yes. I had both. Sheep don't climb fences or eat your clothing, etc, and Katahdins are very low maintenance, very parasite resistant, and have sweet (and not rude) personalities. Our goats always had parasite problems, but we didn't need to deworm our sheep for YEARS.

Wow, that's good. So with the Katahdins, what is their purpose if they don't have to be sheared? Milk? Or are they just pets?

They are mainly raised for meat. I don't know if they're any good for milking. I do know they make fantastic pets. A little harder to tame than goats, but totally worth it.
Oh, and they're good at mowing the lawn. :D
