I admit, this one has me stumped.

My best guess is that they were stressed out. In total I have lost 3 brown leghorns 2 rir 1 buff Orpington 3 white leghorns. So that's 9 total. I have 28 very healthy chicks though!

I think they will. I just wanted to see if I should do something to help for future

It totally sounds like Aspergillosis. Chicks can get Aspergillosis from a fungal contamination via an incubator or brooder. Basically, your chicks could have inhaled fungal spores during the shipment and it created a severe respiratory infection.
