We have 6 girls, 3 Australorps and 3 ISA Reds all under 1 year old. They were all laying this fall, and the Australorps started molting early winter and so their egglaying (as expected stopped).
Now I get 2 to 4 eggs a day, but today I found a teeny tiny egg (17 grams) our typical egg is 50-70 grams.
I'm assuming this egg is a fluke and it is due to the blizzard and subzero temperatures (and windchills) we have had for the last few days (northwestern Minnesota!).
Is there something I should look out for? I was expecting less egg production, but not teeny tiny eggs!!
It's cold in the coop, but I think they are okay. They have to go to their run to get food/water, is that something we should consider moving inside?
