Do you kiss your chickens?

I don’t normally kiss my birds, but I’ll do it once in a while. I did it recently for a little chick that had to be put down due to a severely deformed leg, and to a hen that wanted to be picked up and snuggled when she normally doesn’t want anything to do with me.

Edit- I will admit though that I’ve had a few chickens peck my lips and teeth before. I once had a duck actually grab my tongue and yank on it when I had my mouth open. For a moment while I was soaking her bumblefoot. There was a lot of sputtering and spitting and yelling after that one! She almost got me to let her go

I told myself when I first got chicks that I would fight the desire to kiss them and that was going just fine... Until I had my first chicken emergency and the emotional weight of that whole ordeal kind of derailed that intention. So, yes at this phase. And mine are friendly enough that they want to cuddle on my lap and will seek me out for cuddles, so I guess it kind of goes both ways.

That's a good way to avoid cavities. Which is why chickens are a much safer bet, no teeth!

I know I'm not supposed to but I kiss my 3 girls every night at bedtime when they go up to roost just like I would regular children...they are my babies after all!

Screw the health risks, yes I kiss them usually on their neck feathers, there's no way I couldn't even if I tried
