Duckling breathing with mouth open

Hope the duckling is feeling better by now. I'm still not sure why your setup shouldn't work. Did you happen to check what kind of wood chips you're using?

Can ducks get allergies? Its now scratching at its nostrils almlst constantly

How old is this Duckling?......Do you allow it to swim?.....I do not believe its allergies...

Thanks everyone for the help. So I just got up (I work over nights) and miraculously it isnt breathing thru its mouth! I now seen for the first time dink its whole bill in the water. Bit it still sneezes once and a while not near as bad. Its still itching as well but not as bad either.
