Hello, everyone.
For the second time this week, our sweet one-year-old Olive Egger has layed a GIANT egg, with its own white and yolk, and with a fully formed “normal” egg inside! Here you see the rinsed version (broken yolk and egg white rinsed away). The super large egg is misshapen and has a super thin shell.
I looked it up online, and this is supposed to be a rare phenomenon. Obviously something isn’t right with our hen. Our other five are healthy and laying normally. This hen also appears healthy, but usually lays normally.
Any ideas of what’s going on here? Is there anything we should be doing for her??
Thanks in advance.
