Well I went to check and feed the peas as usual and I seen my just comming 2 YO IB Pied male displaying...GREAT.......looked cool....
so i walk over to there pen to get a closer look and seen him displaying to an older male who loves to sit on the icy ground....well upon looking I seen the older male dead!!! I dont know why, but he always liked being on the cold ground. Well last night it got down to 5 and he just didnt make it. He didnt look bad or anything, just like he went to sleep and never woke. I hope he didnt suffer at all!!!

Im so sad, he was a cool guy and the 1st adult pea I have EVER lost!!!

So sorry for your loss
What kind was he?
Deeman said some peas are not cold hardy.

So he slept on the ground? You might want to give them warm roosts so they don't get cold on the ground at night if they don't have roosts that is.

Same thing happened to my peach pied male last week. He refused to go inside or on the roost . So now I am going to try and find a new peach pied or at least a peach come the beginning of the year for his mates.
