Yesterday I was trying to think of a new treat my pullets would like, and I've heard plain yogurt is pretty good for them and that most chickens like it as well! So, I brought out a bowl for them and tried to get them to eat it. Nothing. I dip my hand in a bit, offer it to them again, and they go nuts. It's like they're all fighting for their lives. Half of them are ducking in and out, getting a bit of yogurt and running like another pullet is going to steal it from them. At one point they started running out of yogurt and grabbing my fingers, trying to drag me off with them. The other half are gracefully drinking it from my hand, sitting on my lap. It was quite the experience.

So, all in all, would I recommend hand feeding your backyard poultry yogurt? At least once, yes. Be warned though, There will be yogurt all over your clothes, hands, and chickens.
