I have a weird looking rooster

I know some breeds where the females are laced and the males arent, can throw a hen feathered cockerel every now and then. I know when I got my Dark Cornish, the breeder said that more prolific breeders will get a few hen feathered males.

It may be a hen----one of our bantam hens crows and it does sound like a weird rooster.

He is a black tail Japanese mixed mutt, I call him Scruffy. I've read and heard that roosters aren't suppose to have colors like he does. And I've had doubts that he's actually even a real rooster at all. He crows, not as often as his brother and it doesnt sound like a normal crow.

This is his brother. A very normal looking rooster right? Seeing the two of them you can probably see why I have speculations. He looks just like his twin sisters, I want to know of anyone else has had roosters that display hen characteristics like this.

Looks like my goldy and shes most defiantly a hen. I'd say u may have a hen not a roo. Let me see if I can find a picture of goldy. If not I'll try to get some in the morning.

My hen looks like him. So I'm thinking maybe u have a hen. Hens can crow as well. I've not had any of mine do that. But u never know

Top one is a hen... The second one stands like a roo, and large comb and wattles... But no pointy feathers

Scruffy looks like a fine hen to me.

I only know the mother was a black tail Japanese bantam. I got him from my aunt who didn't know who the father was. He's about 8 months old or so.

Probably hasn't laid an egg because of age and short daylight hours. Look for eggs in the spring.

Second one is a rooster they are called a hennie not so uncommon really....

Quick pictures I took to show Scruffy next to one of his sisters. He has pretty much identical feather pattern to her.

Is the sister from the same hatch? Has she started laying yet? And any idea in the possible breeds of the sires?

Can you compare the pelvic bone of the known brother to Scruffy?
