Jake Turkey doing a wierd dance and noise

Im Still a turkey Noob and I gotz a question:

I have a jake turkey as a poult since feb.He a big boy now and lately I have been spying him doing some kind of dance.He will puff up,then drop his wings and rack em against his knees and do some little jump all at the same time.It makes a sort of 'thrump" sound. Is he telling my turkey hen hes in the mood for some lovin??

Teenage boys are the same everywhere. They all want to puff and strut to show off for the girls. Pretty soon he'll be growing a mous..., I mean beard! and fighting with the other guys over who gets the ladies.

Ok..ok I get it. Just a show off like me huh? I can dig it. I get his drift.I played left drift in high school.

LOL. He's showing off. I have a tom that does the same thing for my sister. She was outside making a bonfire in the backyard and he came over and started strutting and doing his seduction dance for her. It was hilarious to watch. My sister wasn't impressed, but it seems to work on the turkey hens.
