I will be setting eggs this Friday or Saturday! If anybody else is setting around that time, come on over and join the hatching fun! My eggs should arrive in the mail Wednesday or Thursday!

Woohoo! That's a lot of eggs Drum!

My eggs just arrive in the mail! All uncracked, 11 detached air cells and one saddle cell. Will be setting when they reach room temperature :-D

WE MADE IT!!!!! Only lost power for about 45 minutes!!! Both eggs going strong. Wicked excited. The day 17 egg is filling nicely with a good air cell. The day 13 egg is very active too, webbies are paddling away!! The day 13 egg is a complete mystery. I don't know who mom or dad is!! But at least part of the baby has dark feathers!!!
Weather looks stable to the end of both hatches!!!

Well our first hatch is done, it was quite a learning experience. We had our first pip day 19 and then 14 hatched day 20, one I assisted on day 21 after I realized that it, and the other three, were shrink wrapped. The humidity kept getting so high, 90+ % and I was afraid it was too high so I opened the lid a few times trying to get some of the humidity out... Only to realize that my hygrometer had actually gotten wet at one point, I think it dipped into my water tray on accident, and was reading so high because of that. So it wasn't high after all, I have no idea what the humidity really was but I know my opening the lid caused three to die :,/ the one I saved is smaller than the others but its getting strong and holding its own with it's brothers and sisters!
I had to take my broody mama off her nest, she nearly died, poor thing was infested with mites and worms coupled with not eating (I have a thread regarding that whole debacle) so her eggs are finishing off in the bator, they are in lockdown today, should hatch Friday, and then we have 20 more set to hatch March 3rd!

So for my first hatch, I set 20 eggs, tossed one clear. One died around day 15-16, another I thought was dead at that point as well actually pipped but shrink wrapped. Two others failed to pip at all and were shrink wrapped, and the runty one I rescued had pipped a hole big enough to see his beak but the got stuck and I could see the membrane drying and turning beige, so I helped him out slowly over the course of several hours. So 15 live chicks from 20 eggs, 75% hatch rate. Would have liked to have more but again, a learning experience.

Well here's my chick pile of 25 so far
There's one egg currently wiggling and 1 wrong egg pipper (it's been 19 hours on the wrong end pipper but I can see that it's still alive)
It's day 21 1/2 and 30 went into lockdown

Oh and turns out (of the chicks fluffed and dry) that my Easter Egger is the father of ALL the chicks but 1! I know he's the father because they have muffs (cute fluffy cheeks

) and the father of the 1 without muffs is the Silver/Sebright Thai mix.

My only white egg, candling day 10. I candled about half of them, and there was only one that looked like it had a blood ring, so I marked it for next time. All the others looked good!

Well my hatch just keeps going. We have had at least 2 chicks hatch everyday since Tuesday. The lady I got the eggs from had given me a head start and it resulted in a staged hatch. So far 13/16, 81.25%, hatch rate. Now my incubator sticks after a long drawn out hatch.
