I'm new to this forum, just registered. I'm from Statesville, NC.
I'm looking for someone who raises standard buff cochins who could help me out...
My precious buff cochin hen, Honey, died today ... she was seven years old and so sweet. I spent the last week trying to keep her alive but she finally gave up the fight today. I am not taking it well at all. Who would have thought so many tears could be shed over a chicken..
It seems there is a void now that needs to be filled. I must have another cochin! (She was my only one).
I am looking for either a buff cochin pullet chick, or an adult hen as long as she was raised to be fairly tame. I have enough "wild" chickens!
If any of you NC chicken raisers have anything like this please let me know. Even if you weren't planning on selling but have a hen you would part with ... she would go to a great home and would really heal my heart.
I will be willing to drive a pretty good distance.
