Well, this dodo head just realized that two days ago was the third batch of courtnix quail eggs lockdown. Today is day 16 and I noticed 4-5 pips while frantically shifting them to the hatcher (which I had to turn back on and wait for it to warm up). I though I had til Wednesday when quails number 4 goes into lockdown...whoops.

Whoops..... hopefully they hatch fine for you.

I had two poults hatch over the weekend. Not many but most of my girls took a break for a few weeks.

This one, I didn't hatch but is a guest at our house at the moment lol

Hatch is done! 7 babies! 18 eggs set-9 infetile and 1 DIS do to upside down pip 1 didn't make it to lock down.

Wahoo! Kiddos 4H project chicks are hatching today, so far 4 out. One has a little yolk stuck out. Now what do we do with that???

No worries, as long as there isn't another chick picking at it. Hopefully it will fluff up and hide the little bit left. It will either absorb the rest of the way, or, if it isn't a lot, will dry up and eventually fall off.
