5 Bran chicks hatched yesterday

They are so adorable.

I cannot wait for some of my own to hatch.
Do you ever get chipmunk colored chicks from your pairings?
What do we call this color? It is somewhere betwee a white chick's down and a Buff chick's. Wheaten Ameraucana chicks have this peach/caramel tint too.

I just call it yellow. I get several shades of yellow, gold, chipmunk, black and now brown down. So far my brown chicks are all feathering out very differently..
Those 5 Bran chicks are out of lighter- buff based / calico hens.

I had 4 Prince chicks hatch recently, 3 yellows and a gold


And my latest chicks from Dinner and Yoyo are a black and a chipmunk
(the yellows are Brandon's)

Nancy, I've got some of your grand babies here too. I did not keep track of which chick came from which egg, sorry. You were so diligent about labeling them too. I'll post pics and maybe you'll recognize them, and I'd be happy to help you replace your flock.

Tiffany has the better head, although Gracie has better beak color. You want a wide, round head.
