And I have a question. I have hatched 2 chicks from Tuba this spring that have been black based and each one is coming in with absolutely no white. The father is Nigus and all the yellow chicks excluding the frizzle are out of Tuba. Will her chicks be solid black or would you expect some mottling or red leakage to come. I'm curious as Nigus is that solid orange with one white foot feather. I think the chicks are one cockerel and one pullet.

Mike, your Frizzles are adorable. Post a pick of Tuba's chicks for a better critique. I finally have a Frizzle from my Petunia. I "think" it is a pullet & possibly black mottled.

if both parents are mottled, the chicks will be.
