How old do the cochins get before they start laying I hatched out 4 last year at this time and I have yet to see eggs and I do have 3hens and 1 roo...was soon hoping to hatch there eggs soon

You might have a egg eater or rat. Or something in their diet isn't working.

there eating the same as the other girls..layer feed and scratch mixed from rural king there laying like crazy now...getting ready to fire up the bator got 18 green and 18 brown eggs to hatch out,

My Bantam Cochins were laying by six months........ but different lines will lay at different ages.

Mine also start to lay around 6 months. The ones I hatched in may are just getting ready to lay but it's been awful weather here. Do you let them free range maybe they are laying in an odd place? Is it very cold there and have they had their first moult?

I got some new pictures on my new camera. What do you y'all think? It's pretty much all the same hens and roosters as last time though except they've matured quite a bit I'd say.

I was bored one night and thought lets make a nest box with a slanted bottom and a ledge to hide the eggs, just in case we do have an egg eater,



then i got crazy with the glue gun and well its pretty Fudgy thought so too
