I have 3 adult hens- Olive my RIR/EE, Rosie a RIR, and Monique a BR. Olive lays 3X the eggs as the other 2 together. I have 13 six week olds and hope to have enough eggs to share w/my daughters come May.

ok. So you're pretty sure that the chicks will either come out all black or all white? I was hoping they'd be really cool looking, Oh well

Depends on if the White Rock hen is dominant or recessive:
Dominant will give you all white chicks.
Recessive will give you all black chicks.
My experience with White Rocks though is that they cover up barring and you get some that will have " ghost" barring in the white chick
I was hoping they'd come out really cool looking. Oh well. I guess we'll see. 6 more days til hatch day

I have 2 pullets that hatched May 5. One is a LO the other is a SWL. I had given up hope on getting eggs until winter was over, Checking eggs today I found that I have only one pullet. I don't know which one layed but there was a small brown egg instead of the green EE egg that I was expecting. All is good.
