Nesting box help

I'm building our coop and making plans for the nesting boxes. I found the pattern for the 4ft nesting box, How high should they be off the floor? and can you stack the boxes on top of each other?

Nests should be about 18 to 20" off the ground. The reason they are raised to so discourage scratching and to help keep the eggs from breaking. You can stack the nests just fine but it would be helpful for the chickens to have a bar or roost on the edge so they can easily get in and out of the boxes.
