Yesterday, I brought home my first pair of geese. They are Brown Chinese, a breed that I’ve been interested in keeping for a few years. Plans are to collect two or three eggs and put them under my broody muscovy, and allow the goose to go broody on maybe another 12-14 eggs. Next year I’ll be showing the pair in open class. Here’s some photos of the geese:

I’m still thinking about names for them.

Update - 2/9/19
Collected the first egg yesterday afternoon. I didn’t know that geese laid in the afternoon, I was expecting it to be like the ducks where they lay in the morning. It was a pretty large egg. I’ll be collecting the next two eggs and putting them under the muscovy. I just hope she will sit on them for the whole duration, as they are larger.
