Do you mean the state fair in October? If so, DON"T do it. You can try to get a hold of the Cape Fear Poultry Club, they put a show on in December and have a Jr show was well (at the same time). They have a website were you can get information from about maybe joining them or doing the show. Good luck

I have never been to that one (never even heard of it LOL). I just know the state fair is not the place to show birds. The one put on by Cape Fear Poultry association is a nice show. They do a food stand, raffles, and all. Been to see the Cape Fear show twice now, and it was fun both times.

I'm having the worst luck with roosters this year - 2 of 7 ended up being roos. I don't suppose anyone would want a speckled sussex or a polish?

I'm just outside of downtown Durham so I know my neighbors won't want them.

I would take both roos but Durham is a 4 hr drive. Not unless you wanna visit the beach

Orpingtons are a great choice! They are very sweet and definitely lay eggs
Maybe you'll be able to find a few different colors for a good mixed flock.
