I'll be in the barn!
Figured I'd "branch out" and make another one of these. This is just to make sure that posts will get answered and they don't all collect in one thread.

For those who want to help determine breed or gender:
All can join in! All help is appreciated! Thanks in advance for all your help! :)

For those posting pictures chickens in question:
*Please try to limit to one or two birds in question per post. This helps so we don't get confused.
*Make sure to post individual pictures of each chick or chicken in question. (Ex. Head/comb/wattles, full body picture, natural light photos, etc.)
*Not every answer will be correct every time. Please keep this in mind before trading or reselling supposed cockerels. Don't assume we're always wrong though. Most of the time we are very accurate. Just remember that we only have pictures to guess from.
*Don't post several threads or post on every thread like this. If one of us isn't sure, we may refer you to another thread or a specific person to talk to. One post is fine. We will see it. Patience is a virtue.
*Don't freak out if no one replies to your post for a while. If no one replied, we may not have seen it and could us a friendly reminder OR, we are unsure.
*Lastly of all, ask lots of questions! All of us were new to the chicken world at some point. It isn't going to hurt anything to ask ton of questions.

Got any breed of gender questions? Post 'em!

Hi! This is my first time with chickens. I got six eggs from my 4-H group and only one hatched. When she/he grows up, if it is a girl she will go to my neighbor who already has an awesome coop. I hatched my baby 5 weeks and almost 3 days ago. Can you also help me with finding out her (?) breed? I was thinking maybe golden laced wyandotte. This would be pretty much the best case scenario because they are so beautiful. I was also wondering about black sex-linked or dark cornish. She has inverse GLW feathers on her neck... black on the inside and gold outside. But farther down her back it turns more stripey and brown.

Thanks!!!
Looks like an Easter Egger mix, pullet.

Simply wondering about sex, not breed. Not sure how where they're from has anything to do with their gender. Brand new to this site and I'm hoping not all responses are so condescending. Thank you for your input on my 'Barred Rocks'.
Wasn't being condescending. Just pointing out facts. Both 'purebred' Barred Rocks and Cinnamon Queens should be sexable by coloring. Your birds have female coloring, but most are clearly male. Breed plays a big part in determining gender. Your birds are not the breeds that you purchased. I'm sorry to have to tell you that. It's terrible to be misinformed by a seller/breeder. Some people will say anything to get rid of their extra birds. I have nothing against mixed breeds. In fact, most of my current flock would be considered mixed breeds.

Hi everyone! I was hoping maybe some of you may be able to help me with sexing my little darlings? Its the first time I've had chicks so this has all very much been a learning curve for me. I have looked up how to sex chicks and I hazard a guess that I have 5 cockerels (Chick #1 & #3 - #6)and 1 pullet (Chick #2)...but I just wanted to double check before I send the roos to the market! They are Scots Greys and are 3 weeks old. I posted this in another forum and someone kindly replied and agreed with me, but suggested I post in here to get a second opinion just in case. Any help is greatly appreciated, and I hope the photos are ok. Chick #1: Chick #2 Chick #3 Chick #4 Chick #5 Chick #6.
your guess looks to be correct..
