Wish I'd have know about this contest before. A few weeks ago my Aunt's 7 yr old Production Red was molting so so badly. We joked about butchering her because she's so mean and conveniently was already pre plucked. She's gorgeous now with bright copper red, brand new feathers and I didn't get any pics of her when she looked like a little prickly dinosaur. Oh well, there's always next year if she's still around.

Im.new to this inhave haf my silkies since last oct, but never had them lose their feater, we now have 12 total, I do see alot of feathers around the coop and the yard but why is it that they molt?? Sorry if this is a silly question?
