OFFICIAL BYC CREATIVE EGGS & EGGSHELLS CONTEST

This contest is brought to you by our BYC Sponsors

(click to view & support them)

What do you do with your extra eggs or eggshells?

Some members like to decorate for Christmas with eggs:

Some members turn their eggs into art:

And other members find creative uses for eggshells (like seed starters):

With all the backyard birds represented here on BYC, there have to be some extra eggs laying around. Grab a few and get cracking...let's see what you can do with them!
Share photos of your originality here and you could be one of THREE contest winners! That's right...3 creative members will win a 2017 BYC Calendar!

RULES:

  1. Limit of TWO entries (one picture of each) per member will be accepted.
  2. All entries must be submitted as a reply to this thread.
  3. The pictures need to be taken by you.
  4. No fake editing, photoshopping or captions. We want "natural" pics!
  5. Have fun!

OK. Here is my eggshell entry.

700

Gourd covered with broken eggshells; colored with ink dyes and pigment powders for a shimmer effect, top accented with variegated metal leaf.

Here is my first entry:

Plain eggshell, cotton floss, beads, sequins, and a generous amount of superglue. This was my first, and took about six hours.
Second entry:

Three coats of shellac, cotton thread, synthetic metal thread. My second, but it took a lot longer. (All that "cross-hatching" with a tiny thread...)

Yeah, I know you can't enter, I just wanna see your creative juices!

Ok Cuz, here's what I've been working

NOT AN ENTRY

I took a plain glass candle votive and glued broken pieces of eggshell to it, covered the whole thing in a few coats of Mod Podge, added a bit of sand and stuck a little votive candle in it. My cat, Bam Bam approved!

Ok, fine, @N F C and @Wickedchicken6 twisted my arm.

I took these last night, but its only about half finished.

"2016" on the back, each number will be dangling from gold string
Does anyone else like purple for Christmas? I once decorated a tree in all purple.
But I might change the "0" to red, then do the "1" in green, the "6" in red.
