Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I am so disgusted right now, bear with me while I vent..... It started weekend before last our little geriatric dwarf hamster died, then Monday this week our equally geriatric guinea pig dies, followed by a younger guinea pig the very next day!!! I figure "they come in 3's, right?!?" Good, we're done - 2 weren't a surprise.... So then my one EE has been acting funny, couldn't figure her out. Brought her in yesterday in a cage, suspected vent gleet. Couldn't get her to eat/drink. I tried everything Sally said to do but I was too late!!! She was sleeping this am while the kids were getting ready for school - still breathing. I just went back to check on her again and she's gone!!!! It's times like this that I wish I had NO animals!!! I love them all so much, but to lose 4 in appx 10 days???? I think I need some of Chad's special orange juice.....

Oh no! HUgs and Prayers to you. I know what you mean. We rescue all kinds of animals, and have lots. sometimes they get older all at the same time and it seems the poop hits the fan. It's very stressful. Especially because they become family. Know that you gave them a good life while they were here, and it was time.

Do any of you have any orpington large fowl chicks? I've become a chicken enabler for a friend of a friend, and she is interested in orps. Preferable fairly close to Harrisburg area.

The West York Agway is expecting a shipment of Buff Orpington pullet chicks from Mt. Healthy on Monday morning. They are also getting more in over the next couple of weeks. I posted a list in this thread earlier.

OK, Look what I did. I said I was gonna stick with Chickens, but TSC had Khaki Campbells, and I have been wanting them for a long time, just always missed the boat on finding some. So happy!!! Gonna spoil them rotten!!!

Cute indeed! And I think your ducks and geese are cute, so don't say this is the only cute thing!
GAH!!! Everyone is making me jealous with duck eggs...my stupid ducks refuse to lay!
Will have to remember this, as Fiancee wants Dominiques. He wanted buff orps cause they're supposed to be large....and mine of course are mini-sized.
I'm willing to hunt him!

one will give you blue eggs, one will give you white...no big deal LOL
The offer is still open....
Don't say stuff like this...Fiancee might actually start to condone me being on here...LOL
Awesome, combining my favorite pastimes!
Welcome!
Gah! Where?
I wanna!
Ummm....your sig asks for help....unfortunately...around here, the only kind of help we provide is making you want/get more types/quantities/species.
Sometimes the heart doesn't know how to listen to the head. This does not make you an idiot....it makes you a loving human.
Then you are right by me! I'm in Gardners, on the Cumberland side of the line.
OMG! LOVE!
Look at the map in my signature, you can see where most everyone is located. Send me your zip and I'll add you.
I agree. When I bought my BLRW last year, the guy almost didn't charge me for them, as he had hatched eggs from someone else, and didn't realize that you can get the 3 colors, he thought they were mutts! I love that I have one of each color. My roo is the splash, and I have one of each of the other colors in my girls.
I read it as p i s * e d, if that helps, LOL And I don't blame you!
Have you complained? A good seller will try and make it right.
How do I look up the signature? I am a complete newbie to the site and a bit challenged as far as technology....sorry. I am 17046. I am also trying to figure out how to set up my profile

Just discovered my fellow PA'ers.

My backyard flock consists of 4 buff brahma's and 3 blue splash marans (all hens which just turned 1 yr old). However, I hope to be increasing the flockette with my very first incubated brood. 14 mail ordered blue splash marans eggs...6 piped this morning and as I sit here I hear their first little peeps. How egg-citing!!!

Hello there!

not to far away from me! Course I consider an hour close by I should have gotten a house out in Elverson.. what was I thinking!!

Ok, question.. If I were to hatch my eggs, since I have Roosters.. and pretty sure all the eggs I am getting are fertile.. ( just want I wanted to watch one day was chicken porn) lol.. What do I do with the eggs? just collect them and keep them in a specific place? Till I am ready to hatch them, say I wanted to save up the eggs for a week, the ones in the beginning of the week will still be ok? And what would I have the Langshan Rooster, and a BLRW hen, and the Orps? Thanks was just wondering!!
