I currently have a hybrid in the incubator that has been developing for 8 days now.

Until I saw the last pic, I thought the chick looked like a melanistic pheasant...yep, the pic of the male melanistic mating with the hen. From the pic of the chick, it is a female...the characteristic 'cresent' white feathers under the neck, it's the give away to it's sex.
Melanistic pheasants are feather sexable.

Here's a few pics of day old male and female green melanistic chicks. Judging by your pic, it seems the melanistics genes are dominate over the chicken genes as far as feather color/confirmation.
I have found that most of the genes passed on by a melanistc male are either dominate or incomplete dominate, very few were co-dominate.
It also seems to be that the chickens genes for comb development over rides the pheasants genes.

Most likely the females will be sterile or partially sterile.

@007Sean Thank you for sharing these! I have more hatching the next few weeks that are from a green melanistic hen, so we’ll see if the coloring is the same.

This is the hen and the rooster she’s been bred by. She currently has 5 developing eggs.
