Post here if you DON'T wash clean-looking eggs

I don't think this qualifies as a "clean-looking" egg:

Found this on the poop board this morning. (Thanks, Nettie)

I leave mine on the counter all year long and we don't have an air-conditioned home. It's really not too warm at 70. Think about how warm it is underneath a broody hen and she sits on eggs for three weeks at 100* temps~and those eggs have been accumulating in a nest for 10-15 days already, depending upon the clutch size~ and the only thing that grows in those eggs are chicks. Eggs are amazing things if folks leave the bloom alone.

How far does that "development" get, exactly?

Because, if it's that easy, folks can just throw away all those 'bators. The bull's eye might get a little larger but as for blood vessels and whatnot, I'm highly skeptical. I've seen no evidence of anything other than an enlarged bull's eye when keeping eggs on the counter in the summer months and not even that enlarged, so it's a pretty moot point.

I use them without washing, Why would you want to wash the bloom off? If its dirty, it usually scapes off, if its really bad I'd wash it right before cooking it. The bloom its what protects the porous surface
