Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Broody Mocha hatched most of the chicks, but she kept accepting eggs from her sisters for a few days, until I separated them, so her hatch got staggered. I ended up hatching the last 3 in the incubator, but she accepted the chicks back. She's such a good momma.

She's chocolate, with mauve, black, and chocolate sisters. I have a chocolate rooster, and had a black one too when these eggs were laid. So I got 3 black, 3 chocolate, 2 mauve and 1 blue!

@WVduckchick nice to see someone else is working with bantams!

I have a Mauve rooster over Blue and Black hens this season.

OK so here's our mystery blue orp from Oopsie.
Note: This blue chick came from a lav orp rooster x Oopsie / our cream colored orp that was supposed to be a mauve. Since a blue hatched, we know that our Oopsie is a mauve orp carrying some white genes).

It's now 5.5 weeks.
Sometimes I think, "Darn another cockerel!"
Other times I think, " She's such a pretty girl!"

Those wattles are way too pink for my liking, but the comb is so tiny. Mine always have huge headgear by 4-5 weeks, and this chick has barely a bump. I have no idea its gender.

I really hope I don't have to wait until it lays an egg or crows!

Any guesses?

I went out to the garage last night & saw this:
How does Cookie keep track of all 20 of them?
(Technically, she has 21, but one was in the house with me.)

That's some spread she's got there!

21 is a bunch!

Mocha only has 8 to keep track of now (lost one that got too cold after momma went inside early and he didn't follow), but this little blue guy is making sure she doesn't lose him! LOL

With 21, I'm not letting them out. We're only going to grow out 4-6 of them. The extras are going on Craigslist today, so Cookie will get some relief soon.

We lost one chick to a hawk last week so I am keeping mine in the run right now. They are so ****** at me, lol. I love your hen's name. I am probably keeping one or two chocolate pullets so I have to think of some good chocolate-related names. I thought of a few but they don't seem right for them somehow...
