Roosr loosng his crow?

I have a rooster that is under a year old and over the last few days he tries to crow but it comes out very quiet, raspy and short. Now my husband dose not mind cause he is quieter now, but I am worried about him. What in the word could this be?
What can I do to help him?

Does he have any other respiratory issues going on like runny nose, watery eyes? Sometimes a hoarse rooster may have some sort of illness that is causing him to lose his crow and antibiotics can help rid him of what ever he has. If he develops anything else and his crow gets worse, you could start him on duramycin. It is an broad spectrum antibiotic that should help.
