Question is - Mottling was originally not a Shamo color, was it obtained from Asils, Thais, or Brazilians? I believe barring was from Brazilians. . . But I've no certainty at all.

Well, looks like I'll finally be suiting up my only stag for show pretty soon, despite his non-recognized color. I really hope that sometime in the future I'll meet another Shamo owner/breeder who's not several states away. But, aside from that, local or not, I'm definitely going to get some more pullets. Getting a tad tired of having just a pair, but now certainly isn't the time to find any others around. . .

Absolutely love the Silver posted earlier too. Very striking color, fits the Shamo well.

ETA: Since everyone is showing off photos. . .

Do not be surprised if any color comes out of any Oriental breed. They do not always breed true to color.

If you are going to the show in Stevenson WA you may see this guy there. he was BB Shamo in a very good class last weekend.

Thanks Ish (Pride and Joy) I am really enjoying these babies. I have got to find him a good name. Ish has some really nice birds and some VERY BIG dogs!

My bantam shamo have improved on type & color this year was awesome !!!
Will have to post pic of them soon.
I have a pair of
darks shamo bantams,
A quad of wheatons, trio or quad of blacks, barred cockerel, &
A dun pullet in my shamo.

Will probably be showing most of them in next months show except the dun pullet.

Hopefully they don't decide to molt on me

Nice Shamos welasharon!!

My own pair haven't done much lately. The last eggs laid were a few or several months ago, I lost track of time, as my girl decided to go broody, hatched out some chicks, then some darn cat ate most of her chicks, so now she's been taking care of just one little stag for months. I have a feeling it will be a long time before I see eggs again unless I wean him off by selling him or something.

Josh44 - Would love to see those pics

Hello Sharon, hey the birds look real good. Glad you are happy with them. It was certainly a treat for me to have three generations of your fam over at the farm (you all are welcome anytime). From my experience Orientals are usually slow to feather. The two barred pullets have some age on your stag so it will be some time before he starts to act and look the part. I will take some pics of my fowl soon. For now I am still in the frantic pen building stage as I have a yard full of stags that are just waiting for any good reason to not recognize themselves and do what they do best.
