I have an orchard, figs and berries as well. I am thinking of planting some trees specifically for the chickens in their lot: Mulberries for early fruit, Williams Pride Apple for early summer, and Keiffer pear for later fruit. Should help a little with the feed bill.

Got one Pakistani mulberry from the home Depot during the fall... Havent seen any leaves jsut yet but the branches are still flexible ...still dormant.

5 acres, a little over 1 is fenced and devoted to the gamefowl, but mostly Orientals. I also have the Hennie American Games.

update

Went in to work early. Philadelphia. Rain/sleet and snow about 6 in. Most of the snow at my house has already melted or blown away in the wing. All is well though. 65 yesterday. 19 right now

We were in low teens yesterday but will be in high 60's for today and tomorrow. I may let early laying hens set this year.
