Cool pic, certainly not common. One time I had a little bantam that always seemed to be broody and the bigger hens would sit on top of her while she was sitting on eggs.

mine usually stop at the start of molting for a while then lay every third day or so very sporatically till after molt then lay good till November then lock up till February

Yeah, I see an egg every now and again, but this one surprised me, especially for all the feathers she is missing. Not even close to being finished.

I don't even have words. I swear if would have seen that first hand I would have single handedly whipped their *sses. I might have dragged them behind my canoe, leave em for dead out in the middle of nowhere. I can only hope they get chewed up by a bigger shark one day while drowning worms. Hopefully.
