My wife and I are experiencing similar issues as snowpedals907. We ordered 26 red sex-links straight run from Strombergs 3 weeks ago. We picked up the chicks from the post office yesterday. We ended up receiving 17 roosters and 9 hens. We noticed that 2 of the 26 chicks had really bad limps. One hen died this morning and 2 more are not doing so well. I emailed Strombergs this morning. It is too early to say if our experiencing was completely good or bad. I hope Strombergs does the right thing. We will wait for Stromberg's reply on Monday and provide an update of the outcome.

Below is the reply from Strombergs:
When ordering a straight run, the hatchery does not sex the birds at all,
but instead takes them "straight" off the hatcher and put them into the box
for shipping. While over many orders the straight run usually averages out
to be 50% males to 50% females; this does not mean that every order will get
that ratio. Unfortunately, some orders will get a higher ratio of males to
females and then sometimes you may luck out and get a higher percentage of
females to males. In this case you got the higher percentage of males to
females. While I do understand that this can be frustrating. The only way
to combat that is to order the sex that you are looking to get and not leave
it to chance that the packing person will not only be lucky in their pick
but also that that hatch didn't turn out to be a larger male to female
ratio.
I have refunded you for the two birds that seem to be limping. Thank you for
your order and enjoy the rest of your birds.
