Here’s some of my favorite pics, these guys are amazing, intelligent and sweet friends. Some have names too. Gave away 2 of my roosters and one hen last Friday, which was harder than I thought.

Well it’s been record breaking heat in my area, so have been trying desperately to cool down my chickens. Last night I brought in a baby pool with some water in it. I also improved ventilation, and have begun removing the bulk of the bedding. I also tried suggestions of a frozen water bottle in their drinker, and frozen juice jugs covered with a towel. I’d also like to get a fan, does anybody else’s use one. Is it safe?

When I lived in Florida I had a box fan in the coop. I'd point it up so it wouldn't blow on the birds but would help move the air around. I also had a front and back door that were like screen doors but made with hardware cloth.

That’s a good idea, I could also replace the doors with screen for the summer, I’ll try and find a fan.
