I have always thought Silver Laced Wyandottes are the prettiest of all the large breeds, and I know they are generally sweet-tempered, good layers and cold hardy. So, now I have eight shipped eggs in the incubator.

Thanks, I am so excited! Hatching is addicting. I was in the October Hatch-A-Long for Silkies, and now have SLWs for November.

I think I have a Slw going broody!! She has been hang in out in the nesting boxes, and when I closed them up tonight, she was asleep on four eggs!

Well, she gave up. I guess she is just too young to really stick with it.

Aww, I'm sorry. Was there any way to move the eggs to an incubator or another hen?

No, I don't have an incubator, and she was my only broody.

I just got some SLW's!

I have been wanting them since I started getting chickens and yay I snagged two POL pullets!!! $12 a piece. They are hatchery stock and one has pretty poor lacing and the other has incomplete lacing but they are just for my layer flock so that's fine by me! Very sweet girls! They are separated right now and had all the other chickens worked up last night to but should settle down once they are all together.
I'm so excited!
