i'm hoping to post photo's tomorrow when i hopefully have a look inside a chicken i lost today. heavy heart right now... but ex-battery i have had for year+ with respiratory illness and god knows what else. posting now to make sure i go through with it. have not done before. won't be so emotional tomorrow and the logic will take back over...i hope.

I'm sorry for your loss.
It can be hard to lose them when you've been taking special care of them.
Take your time, get some good photos and we will see you tomorrow.

I opened up my poor girl. I need to wait until later to upload the photos . As i expected she was extremely skinny. What I suspected along with her respiratory condition was internal laying - which was the case. I also learned I do not have a CLUE about the internal affairs of chickens! This, I would like to change. The colours of the different organs amazed me. I will be really interested to hear what you can all tell me. Also, I have no idea how to properly open a chicken and I have probably not even exposed helpful parts/organs. We will see anyway when I upload later.

Also, Chicken was ex-battery , approx 2.5yrs. Regularly in respiratory distress and wouldn't eat hardly anything during those times.

Respiratory distress as in her body couldnt support her weight? Or respiratory distress as in a respiratory disease?
