Valentines Day Hatch-A-Long 2016

How long do you leave a newly hatched chick in the incubator? I have to more to hatch.

I usually leave mine in a day, day and a half or so. The cheeping and bumping encourages the others to hatch.

I leave them in until they are really strong and steady on their legs. If they start to be obnoxious and pester the new hatchers and keep them from resting, it's time to move a few to the brooder. I try to leave at least one recovering chick in the incubator until they have all hatched.

Last night's pip got out with no trouble at all! No more pips, but this little guy was a full day early anyway. Hoping for more pips when I get home from work!

I candled last night and put 6 into lock down, my two suspicious eggs I removed as they where now obvious stalls. The temperature has been lower than I thought so I'm expecting a late hatch and possibly low hatch rate. Won't be a valentines hatch for sure.

It's completely fine. All that jostling around really helps speed up the hatching process.

I've got 3 out, one looks like an arrested zip, and 2 more pips. Will watch the stuck one another half an hour and see if it needs assistance, although I rarely help.

4 and we have 13 pips makes me a little nervous I worry they can't get out time will tell.

Nice! I have 5 out, and 3 or 4 more pips. The two left in the incubator are playing soccer with the slowpokes, so I'm not sure how many pips there are.
