What did your pullet look like when she laid her first egg?

It was mystery EE #4, aka Peckerino. There was another yesterday, and I caught her on the act today!
They're all the same age, 1 laying, 12 to go!

My Australorp and one of my Easter Eggers turned bright red in the comb and wattles weeks ago. We're still waiting! They were 20 weeks old yesterday... My Speckled Sussex and other Easter Egger don't look ready yet. It's the most agonizing wait.

Amy Winehouse, my cream legbar, laid her first egg today! 22 weeks exactly. Weirdly she has zero wattles and a small/not very red comb.

Runty, the black copper Marans/legbar cross behind her started laying one week ago and was supposed to lay olive eggs. Surprise! They’re blue (just like Amy’s)!

These chickens surprise me on the regular! (And drive me a bit bonkers as well!)

Rusty hatched on April 4th. I saw her sit on nest box today, and the small egg below is her first egg.

I’ve been following this thread while anxiously waiting for my first egg. I got it today!! I believe it was my 17 1/2 week old barred rock, “Rocket.” Here’s the suspected hen and egg. I took her photo right after I found the egg. I’m setting up a camera so if it turns out not to be hers I’ll update.

Here’s Pepper at 20 weeks the weekend she laid her first egg! Her comb had been red like that for 3-4 weeks or so before that point.

We had one girl, Numpty, start laying about a week and a half ago, and then our top hen, Midge joined her just a few days ago. They are about 22 weeks old.

We have 8 Australorp pullets and are waiting for the others to start laying soon. Half of them barely have combs and wattles despite being the same age. One has had a full comb and wattles earlier than all the others (she got them so early I thought she was a roo), but she's still not laying. But she's also not crowing, so that's a win lol.

The only way I know these two are laying is based on their interest in the nest boxes and the fact that they both started squatting when they see me.

Here's hoping for more eggs soon!
