Believe me we would Love to put them on crumble or pellet. Just tell me which brand is yellow or gold color. I have given more chicken pellets to the deer and fermented the food than I care. Which food is yellow? Thats what they will eat!

I'm pretty lucky. My hens and rooster will eat either pellets or crumbles. I like the pellets especially from nutrena. Reason being is they do not waste as much as they do on their crumbles. Lutrena feed by Purina feed is okay but nutrena is better and that's only my opinion. Have you tried at top dressing. I use an omega three egg vitamin laying crumble which is golden in color. I put this crumble on top of their feed in the morning as instructed on that package. I get it at tractor supply. For me, it works beautifully. My hands late almost every day and they looking great shape. I use the 16% protein Nutrena one month and then I switch to Nutrena's new product called feather fixer for the next month. It has some sort of agent in the mix which is a pallet that repels mites. Living in Florida I can tell you one thing they're everywhere. I had two hands that were always in what I would call poor feather. Since I switched and they are as beautiful as the rest. My hens look gorgeous they're feather-condition is absolutely beautiful and now I'm sounding like a commercial. But really it does work on my hens and they're in extremely fit condition.

I just started ordering Countryside Organic's Organic Soy-free Layer feed. The shipping sucks, but my wife really wants them fed organic to see if that changes the reaction she gets to eggs. I'll be sure to post what our results are. Expecting our first egg any day now!
