What type of fencing do you rural folk use?

Make sure that electric fencing is allowed where you live first, especially if it's going to be anywhere near your property lines.

Thanks for the tip. The one section that would run on the property line is zoned AG and did at one time have hot wire on that side. I could use marking tape to make sure it's visible.

1/2 inch hardware cloth. I have a roof, so no aerial predators. I can't get electric fence; I have too small of a run, but if I had a bigger run, I definitely would.

Love the Premier 1 electric poultry netting. Make sure it is for poultry as the wires are closet together and is 4' tall rather than 3'. You can move it around the yard as needed.

I have a hot wire fence around the coop and about 1/3 acre surrounding area where the slower chickens hang out. The rest of the flock duck under or fly over the fence at will to free range. They hang out in the woods. I accept that there will eventually be losses, but the coop is protected from everything up to bear.
