In the Brooder

I’m a brand new chicken owner with my first flock of chickies. I bought 6 SGEs from Tractor Supply, and I think they’re thriving well. I am planning on getting a few of them butchered to make room for some more chickens (per my city’s regulations) and I was wondering: if I introduce new baby chickens to my remaining SGEs (I heard they’re not broody), will they take them in as their own?

Welcome to BYC!
As the previous post said, a hen must be broody to accept chicks as her own. However, if you raise the babies yourself, you can integrate them when they are no longer in the brooder. There are many threads on how to integrate newcomers to a flock….good luck!
