Well, I gave in to chicken math and bought more March chicks this year to add to my flock of 13, they've been laying for almost a month now, so I decided it was high to make an update page of my newest little peeps
.
It's March 19th and me and my mom are driving home from TSC with our newly bought chicks, we get home and immediately put them in the premade brooding area. There are 6 little black balls of fluff running around, to cute to describe!
Winter the Black Australorp
As they grew older they let me take more pictures of them!
At the time Connie later Constantine the mixed breed cockerel
Winter again
Winter
Cleopatra the BSL
Shirley the mixed breed
Winter
and Merry the BSL
(sadly I don't have a picture of Nora
)
Soon the grew so big I moved them outside to live, they enjoyed the fresh bugs immensely!
Around this time I noticed Connie was a Constantine so I asked on BYC and they agreed.

and then they grew bigger! But sadly at this stage in their lives Cleopatra died
, so we were down to five.

In another week we integrated them into the existing flock (all except Constantine). Surprisingly my older hens didn't pay much attention to them, at least all except for one little Production red named Rosie (who had a sour personality). Since I already had a rooster at the time I gave Constantine away to a friend. Here are some last pictures of my hens in the existing flock!
