Adventures of Orpingtons and their Polish Friend

I've only had chickens for about a year. Somehow, while obsessing over breeds online last year I came across a photo of some silver laced orpingtons and knew that was the breed for me. Of course, when I actually researched them I realized that I'd be waaaay upside down if I decided to add them to my flock but it really didn't matter to me. I had to have some!

In March, I purchased just enough SLO and Chocolate O to fill an order and, because the breeder is amazing, I got a couple extras "just in case"...lucky for me all survived and all are of breeding quality, showing excellent type, feathering and disposition.

The Polish is a "just for fun" girl - is as sweet as the Orps and hysterical to watch. Talk about polar opposites...

I love your Orpingtons! Especially those colors which are very rare. Your birds and photos are stunning!

Love seeing laced birds grouped together - it makes for a brilliant looking photo!
For my top hats to have better views I pluck (against the grain) the feathers to the front of the eye for a more straight field of vision. They don't see you coming from above, but at least they can see forward and at their eye level.
