This is really nice. So cute! But, another reviewer said, I'd love step-by-step commentary on how each step was done and how much time/work went into it all. And how many square feet is it? I may have missed it. Chicken math is real, LOL, so how many can it house?

Good read. Fortunately, we're on a hill so with the tarp over ours, our babies were high and dry with the deluge all Tuesday, Wednesday and all night last night! I had to go out and clean their waterer and got caught in the downpour, so I actually took shelter in their run until it slacked off a little. ☔

LOVE THIS! I'm new to all of this and I raised my first flock from hatchlings. I am looking forward to having a broody baby of my own so she can raise some new babies. Not sure if I would put her in the "chicken hospital" that they were all in when they were still babies, or if I will let them all stay in the big run and coop. I will just gauge the situation when it happens.

This has given me information so that we can make an informed decision when the time comes.

We have one RIR rooster and 2 RIR hens, the rest are BRs. I've heard that BRs will go broody and only sometimes, RIRs will. Do you have info on these two breeds about broody v. non-broody?

THANK YOU AGAIN! Wonderful article.

Thank you so much! This is going to be rough on me, too, I imagine. They're just about 23 weeks now. But I will know what is happening and won't worry AS much. And I know what to do and what not to do.
