I've literally read this whole thing multiple times because every incubate I'm asking myself "am I gonna need to do this?"

Last incubate I waited too long to intervene so I jumped the gun a little earlier with an unpipped eggs and.. here I am again.

Thank you for this masterpiece of what, when, and why.

There was a lot of good information, but there were things that weren't fully explained.

For instance, if you're feeding beef liver, is it meant to be cooked or uncooked? Shouldn't the ducks be given grit to help with digestion if they're getting something besides crumble? What if you can't find feed with niacin? Is there a good supplement to add to unmedicated chick starter? Is there an ideal protein content for duck food vs. chickens?

The most useful bit was about the bedding since the bedding I'm using for chicks won't be a good option for ducklings. As an aside, Coco coir is also a bit expensive, but it is a more sustainable alternative to peat moss.

Excellent information! I got halfway through and started wondering if I need to switch over to meat chickens instead of turkeys this spring. By the end, I think I can make it work. Thanks for the solid info!
