As for my personal experience using the birds, my dog definitely appreciated the parts that I didn’t want to eat. And my plants will appreciate the rest. And probably the wild birds with their feathers. They love stealing molted feathers so I left a little stack near where they like to nest.

Great article Nabiki! I had bookmarked it when I first got my quail thinking it would be helpful in case I wanted to process some. It for sure was! I’ve cleaned small wild birds like grouse before but these guys are a lot smaller.
Excellent step by step instructions accompanied by excellent pictures to show what it should look like at that step. ? I now have 2 extra males that will be useful even in death. Thank you for preparing this!
