We built this here pirate cove in an old sand box under a great silver maple. The mighty tree itself used to hold a treehouse which we tore down and used what we could to fortify the cove.
From the hangoutspot there be a plank leading into the sleeping quarters. Their roost is a hickory branch and below it is hardwarecloth so we can scrape their sheit into the poopdeck with a grill brush and then open its hatch 'n scrape it all into the trough for the gardens.
The hang out part of the cove has various branches and things to climb. The ground there abouts in that area is sand.
There is also a stearing wheel so that if the royal navy ever finds such a hide out they can do the doo and scratch 'em in the dust and leave this place behind.
Got 3 laying boxes which are filled by springwheat still with their berries we grew so they might have a snack while their sitting.
As it's started getting cold I figured I'd forge em up some windows that allowed air to come through that they can still look out'n see whats seen. Only thing is it be right next to their roost and I not sure that be a good thing.
Nonetheless, I self tapped some hinges in plexy glass and attached it to the back lower opening leaving space for air to come in but also be open fully in the warmer months
