Can Chickens Eat Bananas? All You Need To Know

I've seen many posts about feeding overripe bananas to chickens. Thus article indicates that overripe bananas "can be detrimental" to their crop and too much sugar can also present health issues. What health/crop damage can be caused?

The article reads: "Their production will be affected by too much sugar, and too much soft food will have detrimental effects on their crops." Emphasis on "too much".

The next paragraph also advises: "However, bananas are a great treat in moderation & small amounts, whether they are ripe or unripe."... Emphasis on "in moderation and small amounts".
A very informative article! I have often wondered if bananas were safe for chickens and was always concerned that they weren't, so I never fed them any. This article not only said that they are safe but proved that they are safe for chickens to eat. The section on Are Bananas Good for Chickens in this article helped clear up any doubts I had. I always keep frozen bananas in my freezer and after reading this article, I would like to offer them to my chickens for a treat this summer.
